OMG first let me say the only reason why I ordered this book is because my other favorite authors blove, love belvi n and Christina c Jones didn't have anything new that i haven't read. Let me just tell you Jessica is now added to my favorite list as well. This book is so good. It will make u cry, laugh out loud, and feel soo good inside. I loved it from start to finish. Awesome job now i have to go back and read all the other books i have missed lol
This book had me drawn in from beginning to end! The book had me crying I was able to feel everything Tru’s loved one were going through and the peace Truth had pulled at my heart strings. I loved the fact Truth left a verbally abusive marriage because I think this is huge issue that is downplayed in society and people think verbal abuse isn’t real abuse. This is a must read however be prepared to cry! The book was so good I finished it in a day and I work full time lol! Keep up the good work Jessica!

Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah!!!!Remi is a lost soul with low self-esteem following heartbreak in the face of her long-time live-in lover, Banks. Praying that he truly loves her and will see her for the jewel she is, despite the weight gain and insecurity…shouldn’t her loyalty and love cover all of that?When My Soul Met A Thug is an amazing standalone read. I loved it! Jessica Watkins is indeed a vet in the game and she wears her crown with authority…as it has been earned as well as learned. The factors that were pitched in this storyline is memorable as well as intriguing. Mystique, romance, thug love, heart break, disappointment, betrayal, loyalty, devotion and second chances are all characteristics of this 5 star read! The ‘Pow’ was realistic, relatable and emotional, I so applaud Ms. Watkins for addressing something so unfair yet real in today’s world. When some would be singing the saddest love song, how is it even possible for the sweetest melodies to spring forth? The question is how, why, when and why….to capture the essence of it all, you must delve into the depths of a soul loved by a thug. I would highly recommend this read! This was really an emotional rollercoaster but in the best way possible. It's so many things needed to happen in order for a happy ending. The way that True brought this family together was simply amazing. This book flowed so well and the characters really meshed well together. Coop needing someone to love and heal him just as much as Remi needed someone to love and heal her. Both of them deserve happiness. Angel and Russell was just super sweet. I loved their connection on more than just an sexual level. Angel needed intimacy but in a different way than sex. True really was a beautiful soul and really relatable. I loved this from beginning to end.
This was a great read. I was hesitant at first, because I felt the subject matter was dismal. However, the story and characters weaved together perfectly. I cried a little, and got so frustrated with Coop and Remi. However in the end, this wound up to be a very remarkable story. This is the first book. I have read from this author, I will be sure to correct that.
Amazing story telling by the author. The story really struck a chord with me as you may think your problems are bigger only to realize someone else's problem is worse. True is a single mother who left an 'abusive' relationship, but her problems were never over as her ex Jameel is someone you have to punch him squarely in the face, repeatedly. She battles a cancer but I chose to believe she passed away peacefully.Coop's development as a person came out rather strongly in the story. I vouched for him as I read further.Remi... is one poor lass. She definitely deserves more than what she's getting in life.The story did drag on a little for me, as the roller coaster of emotions started to get a little old. Still, it is a five star book no doubt.
This was a great story even though it brought tears to my eyes. This is a story that forces you to read it in one setting.
Omg I don't even know where to begin. let me start by saying i enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. this story felt so real and it actually reminds me of the stuff we as humans go through on a daily basis. I'm not going to lie i cried so many times reading this book and i hate that it had to end. Ms Watkins you did your thing with this book. i'm not going to get into details because i will tell the whole story but i recommend this book and it deserves 5 stars!!!!
